Edlynzia Barnes, Erendira Calderon, Iman Daoud, Anabelén Diaz, Leah Givhan, and Urszula Tyl are students 
from the University of Illinois at Chicago, working with the Collaborative for Health Equity Cook County. Their goal is to to advance health equity by organizing film screenings and discussions in Austin and Cicero of The Raising of America--a new documentary film on early childhood development. The students worked with the community organizations Austin Coming Together and Family Focus Nuestra Familia Cicero in order to put their knowledge of public health into practice. Their goal is to examine root causes of inequities in healthy childhood development, in partnership with community residents. The students presented a final academic presentation summarizing their experiences, with an assessment using both quantitative and qualitative data. A report will be provided to their partners in Austin and Cicero.
